Privacy Statement

This privacy statement sets out how WEBB Traders B.V. (WEBB) in its capacity as controller, collects, processes and transfers your personal data and provides information on how you can request to have your personal data erased.

Personal data

Personal data under the GDPR means:

‘Any information related to a natural person or ‘Data Subject’ that can be used to directly or indirectly identify the person. It can be anything from a name, a photo, an email address, bank details, posts on social networking websites, medical information, or a computer IP address.’

We might collect, store, and use certain categories of personal information about you which is permitted by regulations and laws, for example the information we receive when you apply to our job openings.

Some examples of personal data we may collect are:

  • Personal contact details (name, title, gender, IP address, phone number, address)
  • Identification details (passport or ID, photo ID, social security number)
  • Information in order to comply with our legal obligations (due diligence checks, third party information, anti-money laundering checks)

How do we collect your personal data?

WEBB will collect and process the personal data received directly from you or obtained by third party sources (publically available). Examples of the third party sources WEBB may obtain data from are:

  • Regulatory authorities who collect your personal data (data that is generally available on their website)
  • Public sources (internet, news)
  • Company registries

Why do we process your personal data?

We will only use your personal data when the law provides a legal processing basis or on the basis of a contractual agreement. We will use your personal information in one or more of the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to do so to enter and perform into contracts for services we have entered into with you.
  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests except in case your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms are overridden by our interests
  • Where we have received you consent for retaining the data

Disclosure to third parties

WEBB will only share your personal information with third parties where required by law, where it is necessary to administer the working relationship with you or where we have another legitimate basis in doing so. For example, law enforcement agencies, government entities and regulatory bodies. 

In limited and necessary circumstances, your information may be transferred in or outside of the EEA to an international organisation to comply with our legal or contractual requirements. To ensure that your personal information receives an adequate level of protection we have put in place contractual agreements based on national and EU law, which seek to ensure that your personal information is treated by those third parties and entities outside the EU in a way that is consistent with and which respects the EU laws on data protection.

How long is the personal data stored?

WEBB will only retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and processed, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, tax, health and safety, reporting or accounting requirements.

Personal information which is no longer to be retained under the minimum storage periods of the applicable laws and regulations, will be effectively destroyed or permanently erased from our IT systems and we will also require third parties to destroy or erase such personal information where applicable. In addition, WEBB may retain your personal data for scientific, historical and statistical purposes.

Your rights under the GDPR

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your data, rectification of your data, erasure of your data, restriction of processing of your data and the right to request us to transfer your data to another controller, unless there is a legal base or contractual base that requires us to keep the data.
